Peter drucker, a legendary management consultant, advised that you answer the 5 following questions in order to succeed in any business.
전설적인 경영 컨설턴트인 피터드러커는 어떤 비즈니스이든지 성공하려면 다음 5가지 질문에 답해보라고 합니다.

1. What is your mission? 나의 미션은 무엇인가?
You must have a reason why you are running a business.
비즈니스 운영에는 반드시 이유가 있어야 합니다.

This is usually outlined very simply in a mission statement which says why you do, what you do.
이 일을 왜 하는지는 보통 기업강령에 요약 서술돼 있습니다.

2. Who is your customer? 나의 고객은 누구인가?
Ironically, many company's leaders don't always know who their customers are.
아이러니하게도, 많은 회사의 리더들이 자기의 고객이 누구인지 늘 아는 건 아닙니다.

You must know exactly who is buying your products and why they are buying them.
정확히 누가, 왜 내 제품을 구매하는지는 정확히 파악해야 합니다.

And focus your effort to satisfy their needs.
그리고 그들의 니즈를 충족시키는데 초점을 맞추세요.

3. What does your customer value? 내 고객이 중요하게 여기는 뭔가?
  -value : 명사) 가치, 동사) 중요하게 여기다

Go above and beyond to find out what your customer's value  and what they are willing to pay for.
내 고객이 무엇을 중요하게 여기고, 어떤 것이 기꺼이 지갑을 열건지 파악하려면 필요이상으로 조사하세요.
  - go above and beyond : 필요 이상을 하다, ~ 밖의 일을 하다

This may perhaps be the most important question the one many business often fail to ask.
이건 어쩌면 가장 중요한 질문이지만 다수가 묻지 않는 질문일수도 있습니다.

4. What are your results? 나의 결과는 어떠한가?
Always review, evaluate and analyze your results.
자신의 결과를 항상 평가하고, 검토 및 분석합니다.

In a process, not only will you learn many ways to improve your business but how it is changing people's lives.
그 과정에서 사업 발전과정에 대한 다양한 걸 배우게 될 뿐 아니라, 내 사업이 어떻게 사람들의 삶을 변화시키고 있는지도 알게 됩니다.


5. What is your plan? 나의 계획은 무엇인가?
A successful plan is comprised of your company's objective, vision, future direction,  action steps, a budget and a thorough evaluation.
성공적인 계획은 회사의 목표, 비전, 향후 방향, 단계별 실행계획 및 예산, 그리고 철처한 평가로 구성됩니다.

It is truly an honor (and a privilege) to be invited again.

However as much as I'd love to attend, I'm force to forgo your invitation due to conflicting schedules.

4.6 How to generally decline
    일반적으로 거절하는 법

Providing details while declining an offer or  request.
제안이나 요청을 거절하면서 구체적 이유를 설명해주기

There are times  when you must provide more specific reason why you are declining an offer, request or invitation
  제안이나 요청, 초대를 왜 거절했는제 좀더 구체적인 이유를 제시해야할 때가 있습니다.

Considered following ways.
다음 방법들을 고려하세요.

1.
I receive your email request for an extended holiday.
휴가연장 신청 이메일을 받았습니다.

But as you are well aware, We are running behind on our project schedule.
 하지만 잘 알다시피, 우리 프로젝트 스케줄이 늦어지고 있어요.
  - As you are well aware : 잘 아시다시피
  - run behind : 뒤쳐지다, 늦어지다

So perhaps at another time.

Too bad I can't join your forum this Friday.

I'll be away on a business trip in Brisbane until next Tuesday.

하지만 CEO께서 추후 공지가 있을 때 까지 모든 이동 요청을 보류하셨습니다.
  -put a hold : 중지하다, 보류하다

4.5  How to decline an offer or a request formally.
      공식적으로 제안이나 요청을 거절하는 방법

Turning down someone like a pro.
프로답게 거절하기.
  -turn down : 거절하다

Different ways to decline an offer or a request in a more proper or formal way.
보다 격식을 갖춰 제안이나 요청을 거절하는 여러가지 표현들입니다.

I. I must regretfully decline your kind invitation to speak at your annual convention.
귀사의 연례 회의 연설 초청을 애석하게도 거절할 수 밖에 없습니다.

  -must : ~ 할 수 밖에 없는 상황이다

 - regretfully : 불행히 , 유감스러운, 애성하게도

I'm scheduled to speak at a conference in Brussels.
브뤼셀 회의에서 강연이 예정돼 있습니다.
  -be scheduled to : ~ 할 예정이다

2. If only you can understand how heartbreaking it is for me to turn down to this incredible offer.
이렇게 훌륭한 제안을 거절할 수 밖에 없는 게 얼마나 애석한지 모르실 겁니다.
  - If only : ~이면 좋을 텐데
  -  heartbreaking: 애석한, 슬픈

I hope there would be another opportunity in the future.
미래에 다른 기회가 있길 바랍니다.

3. Alas. it will be difficult for us to conduct any form of business with you at this time.
이럴 수가. 현재로선 귀사와 어떤 형식으로든 비즈니스를 진행하기 어려울 것 같습니다.
  -alas! : 아아, 이런, 이럴 수가 (슬픔, 유감스런 상황에서)

4. My prior engagement doesn't allow me to attend your event next week.
선약이 있어서 다음주 귀사 행사에 참석할 수가 없습니다.
  -prior(프라이어ㄹ) engagement: 선약

But I promise to do my best to attend your next one.

하지만 다음 번 행사에는 참석할 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것을 약속드립니다.

5. I sincerely appreciate the job offer.
일자리 제안 진심으로 감사드립니다.

But for the sake of my family, I've decided to  accept the position close to my home
하지만 가족을 위해, 집과 가까운 곳의 일자리를 받아들였습니다.
  - for the sake of : ~ 를 위해서 ~ 때문에

6. While we are genuinely introduced your proposal, we're afraid we  may have to  postpone our decision until next year.
귀사의 제안이 관심이 있지만, 결정은 내년까지 기다려야 할 듯 싶습니다.
  - be afraid: ~ 할 듯 싶다
  - genuinely(줴뉴인리): 진정으로, 진심으로

4. 5 How do you like to dress?
      어떻게 옷 입나요?

Some people think that fashion is a waste of time. 
패션이 시간낭비라고 생각하는 사람도 있습니다.
  - a waste of time. : 시간낭비
  (ex: Studying is never a waste of time. 공부는 절대 시간낭비가 아냐
       He thought that the meetings were a waste of time. 그는 회의가 시간낭비라고 생각했다)

They say they prefer to spend their time on more important issues.
그들은 좀더 중요한 일에 시간을 쓴다고 말합니다.

They even wear the same thing day in and day out.
심지어 매일같이 같은 옷을 입습니다.
  -day  in and day out: 날마다 (=every single day)

Others are nearly obsessive about what they wear.
옷 입는 것에 집착하다시피 하는 사람들도 있습니다.

They keep up to date on the latest fashions.
그들은 최신 유행에 발맞춰 갑니다.
  - keep up to date: 최신으로 업데이트하다
 (ex: I will keep you up to date : 진행상황을 계속 공유해줄게.
      A good worker always keeps up to date on what's going on. 훌륭한 근무자는 항상 주변의 최신 정보를 놓치지 않는다

Their wardrobes are cutting edge.
그들의 옷장은 첨단을 달립니다.

  (ex: Engineers develop cutting-edge technology. 기술자들은 최첨단 기술을 개발한다)

I'm somewhere between the two extremes.
저는 그 양 극단의 중간 쯤에 있습니다.

I'm not a very snappy dresser, but I do like to be presentable.
옷을 그리 잘 입는 건 아니지만, 단정한 걸 좋아합니다.
  -snappy: 세련된, 옷을 잘입는 (=fashionable)
  -presentable.: 단정한, 괜찮은

Therefore the bulk of my clothes are tried- and- true classics.
 그러므로 제가 입는 옷 상당수는 이미 검증된 것들입니다.
  -the bulk of: 상당부분
  (ex: The bulk of the book was boring. 그 책 대부분이 지루했다.
       The sofa took up the bulk of a living room. 소파가 거실 상당부분을 차지했다)

My outfits aren't eye-catching,  but they are not out of place any setting.
그렇게 시선을 끄는 옷은 없지만, 크게 상황에 벗어나진 않습니다.

Whatever the case the clothes you wear are important part of your first impression.

I'm often confused between 'for sale' and 'on sale'.
'for sale' 과 'on sale' 이 종종 헷갈립니다.
Could you explain the difference?

A:
The word 'sale' originally carry the meaning of to give, supply or deliver.
sale 단어는 원래 주다, 공급하다, 배달하다는 뜻을 담고 있습니다.

but over the years it has evolved to the meaning of transaction of goods.
하지만 시간이 지나면서 그 의미가 물물교환으로 진화되었죠.

More simply sale is the noun form of to sell.
더 간단히 말하면 sale은 sell의 명사형입니다.

Now to answer your question,
질문에 답해드리자면,

There's striking difference between the two expressions.
두 표현간에 확연한 차이가 있습니다.

The difference's in the proposition 'for' and 'on' that precedes before the sale.
차이는 sale 앞에 오는 전치사 for와 on에 있습니다.

'For sale' means to be available for purchase.
'For sale'은 구매가능한, 이란 뜻이고

And 'on sale' means to be available at reduced  or discount the prices.
'on sale'은 할인된 가격에 판매중, 이란 뜻입니다.

Many English expressions are derived from sale and sell.
많은 영어 표현들이 sale과 sell에서 왔습니다.

For example a 'sales speech' which is sales presentation to sell a product.
예를 들어 sales speech는 물품을 판매하기 위한 판매 프리젠테이션이고,

Or a 'hard sell' which means to try very hard to persuade someone to buy something.
hard sell은 판매하려고 구매자에게 많은 노력을 쏟는다는 의미입니다.

There's also a 'white sale' which means sell on household items such as towels and linens , bed sheets and blankets.  .
white sale이란 표현도 있는데요. 이건 수건이나 린넨, 침대시트, 담요같은 가정용품을 파는걸 말합니다.

One of my favorites is to 'sell like hotcakes' which means something is being sold very well. 제가 좋아하는 표현이 'sell like hotcakes' 인데요. 이건 불티나게 팔리는 걸 말합니다.

3. 31 Talk about how much you like coffee.
        커피를 얼마나 좋아하는지 얘기해봅시다.

I'm a big time coffee lover.

A cup of Joe has always been how I start my day.

Without it, I would probably snap at people frequently for no sound reason.

You may think It's overkill but frankly it's what keeps me alert.

I'm not impossibly picky about my coffee though.

3.30 Talk about a typical work out at the gym

I hit the gym at least 3 times a week these days, because I need to get back in shape.
요즘 일주일에 적어도 3번은 운동하러 갑니다. 체력을 회복할 필요가 있어서죠.  
  -hit : 가다, 하다
  -get back in shape: 체력을 회복하다, 체형을 되돌리다
  (ex: She wanted to get back in shape before her wedding. 그녀는 결혼 전 몸매를 회복하고 싶어한다.
        I'm going to get back in shape by working out on a daily basis. 매일 운동해서 몸매를 되찾을거야.)

Honestly the hardest part is getting myself to the gym.
솔직히 운동하러 가는 자체가 가장 힘듭니다.

Once I'm there, it's a cakewalk.
가기만 하면, 식은 죽 먹기입니다.
  -cakewalk : 식은 죽 먹기, 아주 쉬운 일 (비격식)
  (ex: Once this project is done, the rest of the year will be a cakewalk. 이 프로젝트만 끝나면 나머진 식은 죽먹기다)

I begin with stretching and then jog for 20 mins to pump up the heart rate.
스트레칭으로 시작해서, 그리고나서 심박수를 올리기 위해서 20분간 뜁니다.

I like to use light dumb-bells when I work on my arms.
팔운동을 할 때 가벼운 아령을 즐겨 사용합니다.

I use the leg press to tone my legs.

In between sets, I make sure to catch my breath before pushing myself any further.

I end my work out with sprinting.

It leaves me out of breath, but feeling invigorated.

3. 29 Talk about what your family means to you.
        가족이 당신에게 어떤 의미인지 얘기해봅시다.

Family has always been a top priority for me.
가족은 언제나 최우선순위입니다.
  -top priority(탑 프라이오러리) : 최우선권

They are also the driving force.
가족은 제 삶의 원동력입니다.
  - driving force: 원동력, 추진력

They keep me going when the going gets tough.
상황이 힘들 때, 계속갈 수 있게 해줍니다.

(ex: Coffee keeps me going in the morning. 커피가 날 아침에 깨어있게 한다.

Sometimes the grunt work of every day life makes me cringe.   
반복되는고된  일상사로 움츠러 들 때가 있습니다.

  (ex: I hated the grunt work as a intern. 인턴할 때 고된일이 많아서 싫었다)
  -cringe(크린쥐-): 움츠리다

But my family is the reason I can swallow my pride and keep going.
자존심을 굽히고 계속 갈 수 있는 이유 중의 하나입니다.
  -swallow one's pride : 자존심을 굽히다/ 버리다
 (ex: I had to swallow my pride and move on. 자존심을 버리고 갈 수 밖에 없었다.
       You should swallow your pride when you learn something. 뭔가 배울 땐 자존심을 버려야 한다.
      It's not a sign of weakness to swallow you pride. 자존심을 굽히는게 약하다는 의미는 아니다.)

There are days when I just want to drop everything and disappear.
모든 걸 다 내려놓고 사라지고 싶은 날이 있습니다.

That's when I take out my wallet to look at the family portrait.
그때가 내가 지갑을 꺼내 가족사진을 보는 순간입니다.

This usually keeps me from having a nervous break down.
정신적으로 무너질 때 절 지켜줍니다.

Whenever I hop on the subway these days, it seems like everyone has  their nose buried in a smart phone screen.
요즘 지하철에 탈 때마다, 모두가 스마트폰을 보고 있는 거 같습니다.

Also the small screens and bad posture are certainly not what the doctor ordered.

Nonetheless  in moderation, smart phone games can be a healthy pastime.

Sometimes I feel nostalgic for the slower, noisier trains of the past.
가끔은 옛날의 시끄럽고 느린 열차가 그립습니다.

But the convenience of the KTX is too good to pass on.

Nowadays Blind dates are becoming more and more common place in Korea.
요즘 소개팅이 점점 보편적이 되고 있습니다.

One of the many reasons is that desk jockeys are too harried and distracted to date  spontaneously.

These days, my weekends are mostly filled with rest and relaxation.

In the past, I used to be more outgoing and active.

Some table manners are unique to the Korea culture.

  (ex: Finger prints are unique to each person. 지문은 사람마다 고유합니다.
       What kind of food is unique to this region? 이 지역 특산물이 뭡니까?)

For one, there is proper way to hold chopsticks.
하나가 젓가락을 제대로 쥐는 방법입니다.

When you hold them up, they should be parallel to each other.
젓가락을 쥐었을 때, 서로 평행이 되게 해야 합니다.
  -parallel(패럴렐) : 평행
  (ex: Two lines are parallel to each other: 두 선이 평행을 이루고 있다.)

In Korea making loud noises while you eat is considered rude.
한국에선 식사중 큰 소리를 내는 걸 무례하게 여깁니다.

Slurping is frown upon.

But more importantly, respecting the elderly extends to the dinner table.
더 중요한 건 연장자에게 밥상에서 예의를 표해야합니다.

If you are seated at a table with people who are older than you wait quietly for them to start eating first.
연장자와 함께 식탁에 앉으면, 그들이 먼저 드실때까지 조용히 기다립니다.

Food placement is important too.
음식 놓는 위치도 중요합니다.

3.7  What do you do to control your weight
    체중조절을 위해 뭘 합니까

When it comes to keeping your weight in check, I think it's important to understand what works for you.
체중조절에서 가장 중요한 건 나한테 맞는 게 뭔지 아는 겁니다.
  - keep ~ in check : ~를 조절하다, 억제하다, 관리하다
  (ex: I need to keep my emotion in check. 감정을 조절할 필요가 있다.
       Make sure to keep your alcohol intake in check. 술섭취량을 조절하세요.

  (ex: Trendy workout classes don't work for everyone. 유행을 타는 운동이 모두에게 효과가 있진 않다.

For me calorie counting is counterproductive.
칼로리 세기는 저한테는 효과가 없습니다.
  -counterproductive: 역효과 나는 (=backfire)

It always backfires.
항상 역효과가 납니다.
  -backfire: 역효과가 난다
  (Ex: Crash diets often backfire. 급한 다이어트는 종종 역효과를 낸다
       My plan to make him jealous backfired. 그에게 질투를 느끼게하려고 했는데 역효과가 났다)

So I make sure that my diet is nutritious and balanced.
건강하고 균형잡힌 식단을 유지하려고 합니다.

However this means that I have to work out consistently as well.
그렇다면 운동도 꾸준하게 해야한다는 걸 의미합니다.

I go to a Pilates studio because it does wonders for my figure.
필라테스 스튜디오에 가는데, 그게 몸매에 놀라운 효과가 있기 때문입니다.

I like to mix it up when it comes to cardio in order to keep things interesting.

I know cross fit is popular these days, but I 'm not a fan.

I try not to obsess about the numbers on the scale.

Because  muscle weighs more than fat.
