[What do High achievers do differently?]
고성과자들과 일반인의 차이는 무엇일까요?
Not all high achievers are not naturally productive or efficient.
고성과자라고 해서 하나같이 태생적으로 생산적이거나 효율적인건 아닙니다.
It often takes hard work to achieve their status.
그런 위치에 이르기까지는 보통 엄청난 노력이 따르죠.

They are good at eliminating distractions.
고성과자들은 주의를 산만하게 하는 걸 제거하는 데 능합니다.
We have waves of information that surge around us everyday.
우리는 매일 물밀듯 밀려오는 정보로 가득합니다.

And it is so easy to get distracted.
주의가 산만해지기 십상이죠.
Most high achievers are dogged workers and they need to focus intensely on the task at hand. 그들은 대부분 의지가 확고한 근로자로, 맡은 업무에 고도로 집중할 필요가 있습니다.
- dogged : 완고한, 끈덕진
In order to do this, they can't afford any distractions such as email, social media or phone calls.
그러기 위해서는 이메일이나 소셜미디어, 전화처럼 주의를 흐트러트리는 일을 허용할 수 없죠.
So they block them out completely until their work is done.
그래서 그들은 업무를 완수할때까지 이런 것들을 철저히 차단해 둡니다.

They almost never multitask.
고성과자들은 멀티태스킹 하는 일이 거의 없습니다.
Contrary to what many people believe, multitasking is often counter-productive.
많은 사람들이 생각하는 것과는 반대로 멀티태스킹은 종종 역효과를 초래합니다.

Simultaneously having lunch, checking email and making phone calls, is a recipe for disaster.

Just focus on doing one thing at a time and doing it well until it is finished.

[Dentist Visit 치과치료] Talk about when you went to the dentist
I made a visit to the dentist for regular check-ups.
정기검진하러 치과를 방문했다.

Last month I went to get my teeth cleaned.
지난 달 스케일링을 받으러 갔었다.

However while he was doing so, he told me that I have a cavity.

I went back a few days later to get it done.
며칠 뒤 치료를 받기 위해 다시 방문했다.
First the dentist froze my gum around the tooth, and then he drilled the hole on the tooth. 의사는 잇몸을 마비시키고, 그 다음에 치아에 구멍을 뚫었다

After that he put in a filling.
그리고 나서 보충제를 넣었다.
My mouth was numb for a while after we were done.
치료가 끝난뒤에도 한동안 입에 감각이 없었다.

이후에 충치가 생기는 걸 막으려고 열심히 이를 닦고 있다.

At least 13 people have died after a fishing boat collided with a 336-tonne tanker and capsized off South Korea's west coast.
