2.5 Talk about a time when you got drunk
    술 취했던 경험을 이야기해봅시다.

I got together with some of my close friends recently.
최근 가까운 친구들과 모였습니다.

We hadn't seen one another for quite a long time.
꽤 오랫동안 서로 못봤습니다.

We gathered at the restaurant and had dinner first.
식당에 모여서 저녁부터 먹었습니다.

We had some drinks while having the meal.
식사하면서 반주 했습니다.

   (ex: We should have some drinks with this. 이거랑 술이랑 같이 먹어야겠다.)

After we ate, we went to a bar to drink more.
다 먹고 나서 술을 더 마시려고 바로 갔습니다.

We even went to a Karaoke room after that.
그 뒤 노래방에도 갔습니다.

We ended up drinking a lot that day.
그날 술 엄청 마시게 됐습니다.
  - end up ~ ing: 결국 ~ 하게 되다
    (ex: I had no idea that I would ended up drinking like that. 그렇게 술 많이 먹게 될지 몰랐다.)

I got completely drunk and couldn't walk straight.
완전히 취해서 똑바로 걷지도 못했습니다.
  - get drunk. : 취하다 (drunken이라고 쓰지 않는다, 주의!)
   (ex: He is a bad drunk. 그는 나쁜 술버릇이 있다.
        I get drunk with just a sip of beer. 맥주 한모금으로도 취합니다.)
        Can I have a sip: 한 모금 먹어도 돼? / Can I have a bite? 한입 먹어도 돼?)

I don't remember how I got home.
어떻게 집에 왔는지 기억이 안납니다.
  -get home : 집에 오다

Naturally I had a terrible hangover the following day
다음날 엄청난 숙취에 시달렸습니다.
  - hangover: 숙취
  (ex: I am hung over : 나 술이 안깼어.
       What do you do when you have a hangover: 술깨려고 어떻게 하세요?
       I'm  having the worst hangover of my life. 내 인생 최악의 숙취에 시달리고 있다)

I even took some medicine to sober up.
 술깨려고 약도 먹었습니다.
  -sober up: 술 취하지 않은, 술 깨다
   ex:  I'm sober 나 술 안취했어. 나 술깼어.
        I need to sober up fast. 술 빨리 깨야하는데.
        I had some soup to sober up next morning. 술깨려고 해장국을 먹었습니다.)

I regretted it drinking so much.
술 많이 마신걸 후회했습니다.

A: I think I got drunk because I drank on a empty stomach. 빈 속에 술마셔서 그런거 같아.

2.4  Talk about a time When you had enteritis
   장염에 걸렸던 때를 얘기해봅시다.

I remember a time I had enteritis a few month ago.
몇 달 전 장염에 걸린 적이 있었습니다.
  - enteritis: 장염
   (ex: Having a mild case of enteritis is quite common. 가벼운 장염은 흔한 일입니다.)

It was pretty bad.
꽤 심했어요.

I had eaten some raw fish and that triggered something in my stomach.
회를 먹었는데 그게 속을 좀 안좋게 한거 같습니다.
  -trigger : 촉발시키다

I had to go to the bathroom again and again because I had the runs .
설사가 나서 화장실에 계속해서 가야 했습니다.
  - had the runs  : 설사하다 (=diarrhea)
  (ex: I had the runs after having fish that went bad. 상한 생선을 먹고 설사했습니다)

I had a fever and couldn't get out of bed.
열이 있고, 일어나기도 힘들었습니다.

    ( I had a high fever and feel a bit dizzy: 고열이 있고 좀 어지러워요)
  - can't get out of bed : 거동하기 힘들다, 일어나지도 못하다

I went to a hospital and stayed there for two days.
병원에 가서 이틀간 입원했습니다.

I got an IV and all I ate was porridge.
링거를 맞고 먹은 거라곤 죽뿐입니다.
  -IV (intravenous): 링거, 수액

It took me almost a week to recover completely .
완전히 낫기까지 한 일주일이 걸렸습니다.
  -recover completely : 완전히 낫다
  (ex: You need plenty of rest to recover completely from a cold. 감기에서 완전히 회복하려면 충분히 쉬어줘야 해)

It was one of the worst experiences in my life.
내 인생에서 최악의 경험이었죠.

I posted some pictures of myself at the hospital on Facebook.
병원에서 찍은 사진을 페이스북에 올렸습니다.

And many of my friends left get-well messages.

I posted a thank-you message after I got better.

2.3 Talk about when you had indigestion
    소화불량에 걸린 경험을 얘기해봅시다

I had a pretty bad case of indigestion last weekend.
지난 주말 꽤 심하게 소화불량에 걸렸습니다.

I ate dinner too fast because I was hungry.
배고파서 저녁을 급하게 먹었어요.

About an hour after dinner, I had stomach cramps and I felt like throwing up.
저녁먹고 한시간 즘 뒤, 위경련이 있었고 속이 미식거렸습니다.

I went to the pharmacy to get some medicine.
약국에 가서 약을 좀 샀습니다.

However the medicine didn't do any good.
그런데 약이 별로 효과가 없었습니다.
  - do good: 효과가 있다. 효력이 있다. (=helpful, effective)
  (ex: I knew that it wouldn't do any good. 그게 효과 없을지 알았어.
       I don't think the coffee didn't do any good because I'm still sleepy. 커피가 별로 효과가 없는 거 같아, 여전히 졸려.)

My mom pricked the tip of my thumb with a needle.
엄마가 바늘로 제 엄지 끝을 땄습니다.
  - prick: 콕 찌르다

That's a home remedy for indigestion.(인더제스쳔)
체했을 때 하는 민간요법입니다.
  - home remedy : 민간요법

I didn't feel well until the next morning.
다음날 아침까지 몸이 좋지 않아서
  - not feel well: 몸이 좀 안좋다. 컨디션이 안좋다.
  (ex: He can't make it here today because he's not feeling well. 그가 몸이 안 좋아서 오늘 여기 못옵니다.)

I just had to stay inside and get lots of rest.
안에 있으면서, 푹 쉬었습니다.

Ever since that instance, I always make sure to eat slowly even when I'm hungry
그 이후 배고프더라도 항상 천천히 먹도록 주의합니다.

2.2 Talk about the last time you went out to eat at restaurant
     마지막으로 외식한 경험을 얘기해봅시다.

I took my parents and children out for dinner last weekend.
최근 부모님을 모시고 아이들과 함께 지난 주말 저녁먹으로 갔습니다.
  -take somebody out for dinner : ~ 데리고 저녁식사 하다
  (ex: I plan to take her out for dinner for tomorrow 내일 그녀와 함께 저녁을 하려 한다)

We went to a Korean barbecue restaurant.
우리는 불고기 식당으로 갔습니다.

The Place is famous for Korean beef called Hanwoo.
한우라고 하는 한국소고기로 유명한 집입니다.
  - be famous for : ~ 로 유명하다

They have the best Hanwoo in town.
그 근방에서 정말 한우를 맛있게 하는 맛집입니다.

As always we grilled the meat on a grill right in front of us.
항상 그렇듯 바로 앞에서 불판에다 고기를 구웠습니다.

        I know how to grill the meat just right : 딱 알맞게 고기 굽는 법을 안다)

The meat was so tender and juicy.
고기가 연하고 육즙이 풍부했습니다.

  - juicy : 즙 (과즙, 육즙 등)

There were various side dishes that tasted really good as well.
여러 반찬이 있었는데, 그것도 정말 맛있었습니다.

The food probably tasted extra good because we were starving.
배가 너무 고팠기 때문에 유난히 더 맛있었는지도 모르겠네요.
  - extra : 유난히~ 하다 (구어체에서 많이 씀)

We had waited thirty minutes to get a table because there were many people waiting.
기다리는 사람들이 많았기 때문에 자리잡기까지 30분 기다렸습니다.

 (ex: It is difficult to get a table at this restaurant on the weekend. 주말엔 이 레스토랑에 자리잡기 힘듭니다.
      How long do we have to wait to get a table? 자리잡으려면 얼마나 기다려야 하나요)

We ate plenty of meat and had Korea soybean paste soup at the end.
고기를 양껏 먹고, 마지막에 된장찌개를 먹었습니다.
  - plenty of~: ~ 충분한

Overall it was very enjoyable dinner.
정말 기분 좋은 식사였습니다.
  - enjoyable : 기분좋은 (= memorable, pleasant)

2.1 Talk about internet security
   인터넷 보안에 대해 얘기해봅시다.

Internet security has become a major issue in recent years.
최근 몇 년 사이 인터넷 보안이 중요한 문제가 되었습니다.

As a result, personal information has been leaked quite often.

1.29 What kind of payment plan do you use for your cell phone
      어떤 종류의 핸드폰 요금제를 사용하나요?

I used to consider how many free minutes of call time I will get  when (I was) picking a payment plan for my phone.
전에는 요금제 선택할 때 무료통화를 얼마를 받는지를 고민했습니다.
 - payment plan 요금제 (=phone plan)

But now it's all about how much they charge you for data usage.
그런데 지금은 데이타 사용을 얼마나 받는지가 관건입니다.

We use our cell phone to get access to the internet.
인터넷 접속에 폰을 사용합니다.

So people these days are more interested in how much data they can use with the certain payment plan.

1.28 What features did you consider when you were getting new cellphones.
      새 폰을 장만할 때 어떤 점을 고려하나요?

I got a new cellphone recently.
최근 새 폰을 장만했습니다.

The one I was using got too old and I had to get a new one .
쓰던 폰이 오래돼서(혹은 식상해서) 새 것을 사야 했죠.
  -get old: 낡다, 오래되다, 수명이 다해가다, 구식이 되다, 식상해지다
  (ex: The chair got too old and one of the legs fell off. 의자가 오래돼서 다리 하나가 떨어져 나갔다.

I bought one of the newest models.
최신 기종 중 하나를 샀습니다.

My new phone has a larger screen.
새 폰은 액정이 더 큽니다.

I thought it would be nice to have a larger screen since I watch video clips on my phone quite often.
폰으로 영상을 자주 보기 때문에 더 큰 액정이 좋겠다고 생각했죠.
  - video clips: 짧은 영상물

Also I like to take pictures with my phone, So I picked one that takes good pictures.
폰으로 사진 찍는 걸 좋아해서, 사진이 잘 찍히는 걸로 골랐습니다.

I also picked this phone because they said it charges really fast.

I always run out of battery, So it was just what I needed.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to buy a black one or a gold one.
검정으로 살지 골드로 살지 확신이 없었습니다.

 (ex: I wasn't sure Whether I should asked him or not. 그에 물어야 할지 확신이 없었어요.       I wasn't sure Whether I can do that. 그걸 할수 있을지 확신이 없었다)

I picked the black one in the end because I thought it looked classier. 
결국 검정으로 골랐는데, 그게 더 고급스러워 보였거든요.

  (ex: I think the black is really classy. 검정색은 정말 고급스러워보인다.
    She looks classier in the black dress. 그녀가 검은색 드레스를 입으니 정말 세련돼 보여.

B: Yeah I just put it on the charger like this. 응 그냥 이렇게 충전기에 끼우면 돼.
A: You don't have to plug in? 전원에 연결하지 않아도 돼?
B: No, not at all. It's what's called a wireless charger. 응, 전혀. 이거 소위 '무선충전기'라고 부르는거야.






1.27 Talk about how glasses or colored contacts make you different
       안경 또는 서클렌즈로 어떻게 다르게 보이는지 얘기해봅시다

I wear colored contact lenses from time to time.
때때로 서클렌즈를 착용합니다.
  -colored contact lenses: 칼라렌즈, 서클렌즈 (=colored contacts)

They make my eyes look bigger and prettier.
눈을 더 크고 더 예쁘게 보이게 하죠.

They come in different colors and designs.
 여러가지 색상과 디자인으로 출시된다.

I don't wear them all the time though.

I sometimes wear glasses when I feel like it.
내키면 안경을 쓰기도 합니다.

People say I look very different with my glasses on. 
사람들은 안경 끼면 내가 굉장히 다르게 보인다고 말합니다.

       I normally read books with my glasses on. 보통 안경쓰고 책 봅니다.

I think glasses are great when I want to give my style a change.
스타일에 변화를 주고싶을 때 안경은 아주 멋진 거 같습니다.

Plus I also like to wear sunglasses.

I most often do that when I'm driving in daylight.

선글라스는 패션을 연출하는 좋은 수단입니다.

I can create a new look with my sunglasses.

B: I guess you should go to see the eye doctor. 너 안과가서 진찰받아야겠다.



1.26 Talk about where you buy your clothes and shoes

Outlet mall is becoming more common in Korea these days.
아웃렛 몰은 한국에서 점점 더 많아지고 있습니다.

In fact a new mall was built not far from where I live.
사는데서 멀지 않은 곳에 몰이 하나 생겼습니다.
   - not far from: 멀지 않다, 근처에 있다
  (ex: My office is not far from where I live 사무실이 집에서 멀지 않습니다.)

I mostly go there to buy my clothes and shoes these days.
요즘 신발과 옷을 사러 대부분 거기에 갑니다.

There are tons of stores there, so I have more options to choose from.
엄청나게 많은 가게들이 있어서, 선택폭이 넓습니다.
  - tons of : 엄청 많은 (=a whole bunch of, many, plenty of)
  - have more options to choose from : 선택폭이 넓다
   (ex: Movie goers have more options to choose form these days. 요즘 영화팬들은 선택의 폭이 넓어졌습니다.)

They have most of the brands I like.
제가 좋아하는 웬만한 브랜드는 다 있습니다.

As all outlet malls do, the stores there offer large discounts.
모든 아웃렛몰이 그렇듯, 할인을 많이 해줍니다.

       치아건강을 위해 무엇을 하는지 얘기해봐요.

I try to take good care of my teeth.

Plus I go to the dentist for regular check-ups.

I do that every six month.

I get my teeth cleaned or get a filling for cavities that I have to.
스케일링하거나 필요하면 충치치료를 합니다.

I used to have crooked teeth when I was younger.

1.12 Talk about when your eyes get dry
        눈이 건조해질때는 얘기해봅시다.

I used to wear contacts before.
예전에 렌즈를 꼈습니다.

   (ex: How long have you been wearing contacts? 렌지 낀지 얼마나 됐어요?)

My eyes get dry pretty easily, so I use eye drops quite often.
눈이 쉽게 건조해져서, 안약을 자주 사용합니다.

I wore glasses when I got home because my eyes get too dry.

I put in artificial tears when they do.

       잠자는게 어려웠던 경험을 이야기해봅시다.

I also have problems falling a sleep when I have a lot on my mind.

I feel very tired in the morning when that happens.

I also have trouble going to sleep when I take a nap in the afternoon.

I have friends who have serious problems with sleep.

Overall I think getting quality sleep is very important for our health.
결론적으로 푹 자는 건 건강에 아주 중요합니다.

Next I change bags quite frequently,

That's why I leave something behind at home quite often.

      어떤 이유로 회사에 늦었던 경험을 이야기해봅시다

I remember when I was late for work on a snowy morning.
눈 오는 날 회사에 늦었던 적이 있었습니다.
  - be late for work: 회사에 지각하다 (be late for class/school: 학교에 지각하다)
    (ex: I try not to be late for work. 회사에 늦지 않으려고 노력합니다
         I was 30 minutes late for work: 30분 늦었어)
  - on a snowy morning: 어느 눈 오는 날

I was stuck in some major traffic.
차가 엄청나게 밀려 꼼짝도 못했어요.
  - be stuck in: 꼼짝 못하다

Cars were barely moving because of the heavy snowfall.
폭설때문에 차들이 거의 움직이지 않았어요.
  - barely moving because of ~: ~ 때문에 거의 움직이지 않다

It took me almost an hour and a half to get to my office.

I was almost an hour late for work.

A lot of people were late that day, so I didn't get into any big trouble.
그날 많은 사람들이 늦었기때문에 저는 크게 혼나지 않았어요.

I regretted not taking the subway, because it would have taken less time.

Ever since that instance, I always make sure to use the subway when it's snowing.

1.6 Talk about when you couldn't make it to a gathering 
     만나기로 한 약속을 지키지 못했던 경험을 이야기해봅시다~

I remember a time when I was supposed to get-together for dinner with some of my friends.  친구들과 저녁을 함께 하기로 한 적이 있었습니다.
  - be supposed to : ~ 하기로 되어 있다, ~하기로 예정되다
  - get-together: 모임 (=gathering)

I was looking forward to the gathering.
나는 모임을 기대하고 있었습니다.
  -be looking forward to +명사/동명사 : ~ 하기를 기대하다

However something urgent came up at work.
그런데 직장에서 급한 일이 생겼습니다.

I couldn't get off until I took care of the problem.

I felt very bad since I hadn't seen them for a long time.
친구들을 본지 오래되었기 때문에 무척 아쉬웠습니다.

Plus I was the one who organized the gathering in the first place.
게다가 애초에 그 모임을 주관한 게 나였죠.

I told my friends that I would make it up to them later on.
친구들에게 나중에 꼭 갚겠다고 말했습니다.

Looking back I regret missing that get-together that day.

    집을 구하는 때를 이야기해봅시다.

I remember when I was getting my apartment two years ago.
2년 전 집을 구하던 때가 생각납니다.
  - remember (a time) when : ~ 할 때를 기억하다

I was looking for a three-bedroom apartment.
방 세개짜리 아파트를 찾고 있었어요.
  - studio : 원룸

I wanted a place that was walking distance from the subway station.
지하철역에서 도보거리인 곳을 원했습니다.
  - walking distance : 걸을 수 있는 거리, 도보거리 (15분 이내 거리)
  (ex: It's not within walking distance: 걸어갈만한 거리가 아니에요.
      My house is within walking distance from my office. 사무실에서 도보거리에 집이 있습니다.
     I'm looking for a place that is walking distance from the school. 학교에서 도보거리에 있는 집을 찾고 있어요.)


I also wanted a place that was fairly new. 
또 지은지 얼마 되지 않은 건물을 찾고 있었어요.
 - brand new: 완전 새것 /fairly new: 거의 새것

I went to real estate agency to see what they had available.
어떤 물건이 있는지 보려고 부동산 중개소에 갔습니다.

        That is far beyond my price range. 제가 원하는 가격대를 훨씬 넘네요.)

I couldn't decide whichone to choose the first few days.
처음 며칠은 결정할 수 없었습니다.

I ended up going to almost dozen places.
결국 열 군데 이상을 돌아다녔습니다.

It was a lot of leg work.
발품을 많이 팔아야 했습니다.

Finally I came across the place I was satisfied with.
마침내 만족스런 곳을 찾게 되었습니다.

The rent was reasonable enough, so I signed the lease.
집세가 적당해서 계약서를 썼습니다.

1.4 Talk about how Koreans like to have seafood 
    한국인이 얼마나 해산물을 좋아하는지 얘기해봅시다

Koreans are very big on seafood.
한국인들은 해산물을 몹시 좋아합니다.
  - be big on: 몹시 좋아한다
  (ex: I'm big on Hip hop: 나는 힙합을 엄청 좋아해.
       I'm not big on seafood: 난 해산물 별로 안 좋아해)

That's probably because the country is peninsular.
아마도 반도국이기 때문일겁니다.

We have abundant amount of sea food coming in.
해산물이 풍부하게 들어옵니다.
  - abundant: 풍부한
  (ex: The country has abundant amount of natural resources. 그 나라는 풍부한 천연자원이 많습니다.)

Seafood is one of the main dishes on the dinner table.
해산물은 저녁 식사의 주요리중 하나입니다

There is a whole variety of sea food that is eaten.

People pan-fry, steam or  boil seafood in various types of sauces.
다양한 소스에 버무려 해산물을 기름에 지지고, 찌고, 끓여 냅니다.

Sea food is also the main ingredient in many Korean soups.

It's not just typical fish, shell fish, crabs, squids, octopuses or shrimp that people eat.
 일반적인 생선, 조개, 게, 오징어, 문어, 새우만 먹는 건 아닙니다.

  - shrimp: 양이 많다고 할때는 그냥 단수로 씀. (종류를 말할때는 복수로 써줌)

Various types of seaweed are used to make side dishes.

Also Sea creatures such as sea cucumbers, sea urchins or  sea squirts are eaten as appetizers.
애피타이저로 먹는 해삼 성게, 멍게와 같은 해산물도 있습니다.
