1.29 What kind of payment plan do you use for your cell phone
      어떤 종류의 핸드폰 요금제를 사용하나요?

I used to consider how many free minutes of call time I will get  when (I was) picking a payment plan for my phone.
전에는 요금제 선택할 때 무료통화를 얼마를 받는지를 고민했습니다.
 - payment plan 요금제 (=phone plan)

But now it's all about how much they charge you for data usage.
그런데 지금은 데이타 사용을 얼마나 받는지가 관건입니다.
  - it's all about : ~ 관건이다.
  - data usage : 데이타 사용

We use our cell phone to get access to the internet.
인터넷 접속에 폰을 사용합니다.
  - get access to the internet : 인터넷에 접속하다

So people these days are more interested in how much data they can use with the certain payment plan.
그래서 요즘은 특정 요금제로 얼마나 데이터를 쓸 수 있는지에 관심을 가집니다.
  - with certain payment plan : 특정 요금제
   (ex: You can get unlimited access with the certain payment plan. 특정 요금제를 쓰면 무제한 접속할수 있다)

I use my phone a lot, so I picked the unlimited payment plan.
폰을 많이 사용해서 무제한 요금제를 골랐습니다.
  - the unlimited (payment) plan : 무제한 요금제
  (ex: Most of my friend use the unlimited plan. 친구들 대부분이 무제한 요금제를 씁니다)

I can get unlimited data allowance with this plan.
 이 요금제로 무제한 데이타 용량을 받는데,
 - unlimited data allowance : 무제한 데이터 용량

But it gets little slower if I use more than 11 gigabytes of data.
11기가 이상을 쓰면 좀 느려집니다.

But still I don't have to pay an extra fee for internet access.
하지만 그래도 인터넷 사용에 추가요금을 낼 필요는 없습니다.
  - pay an extra fee: 추가요금을 내다
   (ex: I need to pay an extra fee if I exceed the limit 한도를 넘으면 추가요금을 내야 해요)

I can also make calls and send text messages for free with this plan.
이 요금제로 통화나 문자를 무료로 이용할 수 있습니다.
  - to make a call : 전화걸다
  - to take a call/ pick up : 전화 받다 (He's not taking my call 그가 내 전화를 안받아)
  - hang up / to end a call : 전화 끊다 (He hung up on me: 그가 전화를 끊어버렸어. )

1.28 What features did you consider when you were getting new cellphones.
      새 폰을 장만할 때 어떤 점을 고려하나요?

I got a new cellphone recently.
최근 새 폰을 장만했습니다.

The one I was using got too old and I had to get a new one .
쓰던 폰이 오래돼서(혹은 식상해서) 새 것을 사야 했죠.
  -get old: 낡다, 오래되다, 수명이 다해가다, 구식이 되다, 식상해지다
  (ex: The chair got too old and one of the legs fell off. 의자가 오래돼서 다리 하나가 떨어져 나갔다.
       I want to move to a new place as my house is getting too old. 집이 오래돼서 새 집으로 이사가고 싶습니다. )

I bought one of the newest models.
최신 기종 중 하나를 샀습니다.

My new phone has a larger screen.
새 폰은 액정이 더 큽니다.

I thought it would be nice to have a larger screen since I watch video clips on my phone quite often.
폰으로 영상을 자주 보기 때문에 더 큰 액정이 좋겠다고 생각했죠.
  - video clips: 짧은 영상물

Also I like to take pictures with my phone, So I picked one that takes good pictures.
폰으로 사진 찍는 걸 좋아해서, 사진이 잘 찍히는 걸로 골랐습니다.

  (ex: It's important to pick a phone that takes good pictures. 사진 잘 찍히는 폰을 고르는게 중요하다)

I also picked this phone because they said it charges really fast.
충전이 굉장히 빨리돼서 이걸 골랐습니다.
 - charges really fast 충전이 빨리 되다 (really fast=real fast)
  (ex: My phone used to charge really fast but not any more. 내 폰이 전에는 충전이 정말 빨리 됐는데 지금은 아니다)

I always run out of battery, So it was just what I needed.
항상 배터리가 다 닳아서 제가 필요하던 것이었습니다.
 -run out of: 다 떨어지다, 소모되다
   (ex: My phone is dead as it ran out of battery. 배터리가 다돼서 폰이 꺼졌다.
        I'm running our of battery 배터리가 다 돼가고 있어.
        I have run out of idea/time/money. 아이디어가/시간이/돈이 없어 )

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to buy a black one or a gold one.
검정으로 살지 골드로 살지 확신이 없었습니다.
  - not sure whether: ~ 할지 말지 확신이 없다
 (ex: I wasn't sure Whether I should asked him or not. 그에 물어야 할지 확신이 없었어요.       I wasn't sure Whether I can do that. 그걸 할수 있을지 확신이 없었다)

I picked the black one in the end because I thought it looked classier. 
결국 검정으로 골랐는데, 그게 더 고급스러워 보였거든요.
  - classy: 고급지다, 세련되다 (비교급: classier= more classy)
  (ex: I think the black is really classy. 검정색은 정말 고급스러워보인다.
    She looks classier in the black dress. 그녀가 검은색 드레스를 입으니 정말 세련돼 보여.
    It looks classier even though it's cheaper. 저렴한데도 더 고급스러워 보여.)

A: Wow, Is that how you charge your phone? 와우, 너 그렇게 폰 충전하는거야?
B: Yeah I just put it on the charger like this. 응 그냥 이렇게 충전기에 끼우면 돼.
A: You don't have to plug in? 전원에 연결하지 않아도 돼?
B: No, not at all. It's what's called a wireless charger. 응, 전혀. 이거 소위 '무선충전기'라고 부르는거야.






1.27 Talk about how glasses or colored contacts make you different
       안경 또는 서클렌즈로 어떻게 다르게 보이는지 얘기해봅시다

I wear colored contact lenses from time to time.
때때로 서클렌즈를 착용합니다.
  -colored contact lenses: 칼라렌즈, 서클렌즈 (=colored contacts)

They make my eyes look bigger and prettier.
눈을 더 크고 더 예쁘게 보이게 하죠.

They come in different colors and designs.
 여러가지 색상과 디자인으로 출시된다.

  (ex: The shoes come in different colors and sizes. 이 신발은 여러가지 색상과 사이즈로 나옵니다.)

I don't wear them all the time though.
항상 쓰는 건 아닙니다.

I mostly wear them for special occasions.
대부분 특별한 경우에 씁니다.

I sometimes wear glasses when I feel like it.
내키면 안경을 쓰기도 합니다.
  - when I feel like it: ~ 하고 싶을 때, 내킬때, 기분이 날때
  (ex: When do you go for a walk? I go for a walk when I feel like it. 언제 산책합니까? 전 내킬때 합니다.

People say I look very different with my glasses on. 
사람들은 안경 끼면 내가 굉장히 다르게 보인다고 말합니다.

  (ex: I look very different with my glasses off. 나는 안경 벗으면 이미지가 완전히 다르다.
       I normally read books with my glasses on. 보통 안경쓰고 책 봅니다.
       She said I look older with my glasses on. 그녀는 내가 안경쓰면 나이들어 보인대요.)

I think glasses are great when I want to give my style a change.
스타일에 변화를 주고싶을 때 안경은 아주 멋진 거 같습니다.

Plus I also like to wear sunglasses.

I most often do that when I'm driving in daylight. 
한낮에 운전할때 대부분 선글라스를 낍니다.

Sunglasses are also a great fashion statement.
선글라스는 패션을 연출하는 좋은 수단입니다.
  -fashion statement : 자신을 연출하는 수단

I can create a new look with my sunglasses.
선글라스로 새로운 모습을 연출할 수 있죠.

B: Why? Can't you see well?  왜? 잘 안보여?
A: No, I can't. I need to get a higher prescription for my contacts. 응, 잘 안보여. 렌즈를 좀더 높은 도수로 바꿔야겠어.
B: I guess you should go to see the eye doctor. 너 안과가서 진찰받아야겠다.



1.26 Talk about where you buy your clothes and shoes

Outlet mall is becoming more common in Korea these days.
아웃렛 몰은 한국에서 점점 더 많아지고 있습니다.

In fact a new mall was built not far from where I live.
사는데서 멀지 않은 곳에 몰이 하나 생겼습니다.
   - not far from: 멀지 않다, 근처에 있다
  (ex: My office is not far from where I live 사무실이 집에서 멀지 않습니다.)

I mostly go there to buy my clothes and shoes these days.
요즘 신발과 옷을 사러 대부분 거기에 갑니다.

There are tons of stores there, so I have more options to choose from.
엄청나게 많은 가게들이 있어서, 선택폭이 넓습니다.
  - tons of : 엄청 많은 (=a whole bunch of, many, plenty of)
  - have more options to choose from : 선택폭이 넓다
   (ex: Movie goers have more options to choose form these days. 요즘 영화팬들은 선택의 폭이 넓어졌습니다.)

They have most of the brands I like.
제가 좋아하는 웬만한 브랜드는 다 있습니다.

As all outlet malls do, the stores there offer large discounts.
모든 아웃렛몰이 그렇듯, 할인을 많이 해줍니다.

I can buy things (at) 30 to 50 percent off the price tag.  ['at'은 생략가능]
정가에서 30~50퍼센트 할인된 가격에 살수 있습니다.
  - price tag: 가격표 (=tag price)
   (ex: I bought the jacket (at) fifty percent off the price tag. 정가에서 50% 할인해 자켓을 샀습니다

I try not to buy too many clothes though.
옷을 너무 많이 사려고 하지는 않습니다.

I always try to stay within my budget.
항상 예산에 맞추려고 합니다.

  (ex: I'm on a tight budget. So I always try to stay within my budget. 예산에 빠듯해서 항상 예산에 맞추려고 합니다.)

There's a movie theater and many places to eat at the mall,
몰에는 영화관이 있고 먹을 곳이 많습니다.

So I often grab a bite or catch a movie when I go there.
그래서 가면 자주 간단히 식사하거나 영화를 봅니다.
  -grab a bite : 간단히 요기하다. (특히 손으로 쥐고 먹는 것들: 커피, 햄버거, 음료 등)
  (ex: Let's go grab a bite there: 저기 가서 뭘 좀 먹자.
       We often grab a bite at the new sandwich place. 새 샌드위치점에서 자주 먹었다)

I normally go to a large supermarket near my apartment.

I always make a list of the things I need to buy  before I shop for groceries.

I compare prices thoroughly to get good deals.

I normally bring my car and carry the groceries back myself.

But sometimes I have them deliver to my apartment.

The store is open until 11 at night so I can go pretty late when I'm busy.
