3.4 Talk about how all kinds of food can be delivered in Korea

The food delivery system in Korea is great.
한국의 음식 배달 시스템은 끝내줍니다.

It's efficient and reliable.
효율적이고 믿을 수 있습니다.

Popular Fast food chains make a point of delivering in Korea.
인기있는 패스트푸드업체들도 한국에선 신경써서 배달해줍니다.
  -make a point of ~ ing: 신경써서 꼭 ~ 하다
  (ex: I'm going to make a point of working out regularly. 꼭 규칙적으로 운동할 겁니다.)

So you can have burgers and fries delivered to your doorstep.
그래서 현관앞까지 버거와 프라이를 배달해먹을 수 있습니다.

Fried chicken is one of the most popular late night snacks.
치킨은 가장 인기있는 야식입니다.
  -late night snack: 야식

If you are craving beer to go with the fried chicken, you are in luck.
치킨과 함께 맥주가 땡긴다 해도, 걱정할 필요가 없습니다.
  -crave : 갈망하다
  (ex: I have a craving for Chinese food = I'm craving Chinese food. 중국음식이 먹고싶어!
       When you're pregnant, you have random cravings  임신하면 갑자기 뭔가가 먹고싶다)

They also deliver beer.
맥주도 배달해 줍니다.

If you're expecting company and need to cook up a storm,  you don't have to make dozens of side dishes from scratch.
손님이 오기로 해서 바쁘게 요리해야 한다면, 처음부터 많은 반찬을 준비할 필요가 없습니다.
  - company: 손님
  - dozens of : 수십의, 많은
  - up a storm : 빨리 뭔가를 하다, 열정적으로 하다
   (ex: He sure can cook up a storm. 그는 요리를 정말 잘한다.)
  -from scratch :  맨처음부터 하다
   (ex: I made this from scratch. 내가 이거 처음부터 만든거야.)

They deliver them as well.
반찬도 배달합니다.

Obviously the food delivery service doesn't do much for you diet.
의심할 여지 없이 음식 배달 서비스는 다이어트에 그다지 도움이 안됩니다.
  - do not much for ~ : ~에 도움이 되지 않다
 (ex: Heavy drinking doesn't do much for your health. 폭음은 건강에 도움이 별로 안돼.)
      All this talking isn't going to do much for our project 말만 하는 건 프로젝트에 별로 도움이 안된다.)

But it sure is convenient
하지만 정말로 편리합니다.
  -sure : (강조 의미로) 정말 (비격식체로 씀)

3.3 What is spring weather like in Korea? 

Spring time is arguably the most pleasant season of the year.
봄은 연중 가장 좋은 계절이라 해도 과언이 아닙니다.
  -arguably : 틀림없이, 확실히,  과언이 아닌 (=most certainly)

It's neither too cold nor too hot , it's just right.
너무 춥지도 덥지도 않은 딱 맞은 기온입니다.
  -just right: 딱 맞는, 딱 좋은
  (ex: The meat is just right. 고기가 딱 맞게 익었어요.
        The weather feels just right for the walk. 산책하기에 날씨가 딱이에요.
        The price is just right for me. 가격에 딱이네요)

The cherry blossoms are synonymous with this season.
봄하면 벚꽃입니다.
  -be synonymous with : 동격, 동일시되다 (=most certainly)
  (ex: For Some people success is synonymous with money. 어떤 사람들은 성공을 돈과 동일시 합니다. )

In Seoul locals and tourists flock to Yeouido(여의도)
서울주민과 관광객들이 여의도로 모여듭니다.
 - flock to : 한꺼번에 몰리다
  (ex: Chinese tourists are flocking to Jeju island. 중국인 관광객들이 제주도로 몰리고 있다.
       People flock to movie theaters on weekends. 주말에 사람들이 영화관으로 몰린다)

Because rows and rows Cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
연이어 펼쳐진 벚꽃이 활짝피기 때문입니다.
  - in full bloom: 만개하다, 활짝피다
 (ex: You're blooming: 너 정말 아름답다)

I usually don't like touristy areas because of the crowd, but I don't mind this time of the year.
뭄비기 때문에 보통은 관광지같은 곳을 싫어하지만 이맘때는 괜찮습니다.
  -touristy : (사람들이 몰리는)관광지 같은 (뉘앙스가 부정적임)
  (ex: Jeju island is touristy place. 제주도는 관광지입니다.
  -this time of the year: 이맘때

The air feels nice and breezy, The skies are clear.
상쾌하고 선선한 바람이 불고, 하늘이 맑습니다.
  -the skies:  하늘(일반화할때 보통 복수를 씀)

It is warm enough to dress light.
따뜻해서 가볍게 옷을 입기에 좋습니다.
  -dress light :가볍게 옷을 입다 (<->dress warm, dress heavy)

Everything just feels fresh and new.
모든게 새롭습니다.

It's the perfect season for outdoorsy activities.
야외활동을 하기에  딱 좋습니다.
  -outdoorsy: 야외활동을 좋아하는, 야외에 적합한
(ex: I love to do outdoorsy things when the weather gets warm. 따뜻해지면 야외활동 하는 걸 좋아합니다.
    Do you consider yourself to be outdoorsy?야와활동 하는거 좋아하세요?)

You can spot many people riding their bicycles along the river.
강을 따라 자전거 타는 많은 사람들을 볼 수 있습니다.

A: I've been feeling unusually moody. 이상하게 감정변화가 심해.
B: How so? 어떤데?
A: I wake up excited and then I'm down the next minute. 흥분해서 깼다가, 바로 우울해져.
B:  It's probably spring fever. 봄 타는 가봐.




3.2 What are typical Korean weddings like?
   일반적인 한국 결혼은 어떻습니까?

Most Korean weddings today are influenced by Western ceremonies.
요즘 한국 결혼식이 서구결혼에 영향을 받았습니다.

So walking down the aisle includes the iconic white wedding gown.
 그래서 결혼하는건 상징적으로 하얀 웨딩드레스를  입는 걸 포함합니다.
  -walk the aisle: 결혼식을 하다 (=get married)
  (ex: They finally decided to walk down the aisle. 그들 결국 결혼하기로 했대.)
        It's common for brides to get cold feet before the walking down the aisle. 신부들이 결혼하기전에 겁을 먹는 건 일반적이다.
       wedding jitters: 결혼신경과민증세)

But popping the question is quite different from conventional wedding proposals.
프로포즈 하는 것은 통상적인 웨딩 프로포즈와 꽤 다릅니다.
    - Pop the question: 프로포즈하다, 구혼하다 (=propose)
   (ex: Did he pop the question? 그가 청혼했니?)

In Korea It can happen during or even after the wedding planning process. 
한국에서는 결혼 준비기간 동안 혹은 끝나고서도 일어날 수 있습니다.

As for the ceremony, it is generally held at a hotel or a space designed for weddings.
결혼식은 주로 호텔이나 결혼식을 위해 만들어진 공간에서 열립니다.
  - be held : 열리다

Money is the most common gift to give.
축의금이 가장 일반적인 선물입니다.

This is the why  a table is set up at the venue with friends handing out white envelopes.
결혼식 장소에 친구들이 흰 봉투를 나눠주는 테이블을 차려놓는 이유입니다.
  -venue: 장소
  (ex: Have you decided on the venue? 장소는 정했니?)

Tying the knot in Korea is not just about the bride and groom.
한국에서 결혼은 신랑신부에 달린 것만은 아닙니다
  -tie the knot: 결혼하다
 (ex: I want to tie the knot before I turn thirty. 나는 서른이 되기 전에 결혼하고 싶다)

It's also about the parents.
또한 부모에 관한 것이기도 합니다.

In fact they have the final say on a lot of things.
사실 많은 부분에서 최종 결정권을 가진건 부모님입니다.
  -have the final say : 최종결정권을 가지다
  (ex: Who has the final say on this matter? 이 문제에 누가 최종결정권이 있나요?)

3.1 Where do you have lunch? what do you normally have for lunch?
 어디서 점심을 먹습니까? 주로 뭘 먹습니까?

My lunch plans looks different everyday.
점심 계획은 날마다 다릅니다.

During my workweek, I often eat out with coworkers.
주중에는 동료들과 자주 나가서 먹습니다.
  -eat out (뒤에 강세): 나가서 먹다
  -workweek : 주중 (=work days)

We gravitate towards Korean cuisine, because it's a healthier choice.
 한식을 선호하는데, 더 건강하기 때문입니다.
    -gravitate towards~ : ~에 끌리다. 선호하다 (=lean towards)

I like to stay close to work, because my lunch hour is only an hour long.
점심시간이 한시간이라 직장 근처에서 먹는 걸 좋아합니다.

I like hole-in-the wall places that serve only a few dishes.
메뉴도 몇개뿐인 허름한 밥집을 좋아합니다.
  -hole-in-the wall: 허름한, 옹색한

Yesterday I had bean sprout soup with a few of my coworkers.
어제 몇몇 동료들과 콩나물국밥을 먹었습니다.

It's my tried -and- true standby.
먹어봐서 맛이 보장된 곳입니다.
  -tried-and-true : (이미 해봐서) 검증된, 믿을 수 있는
  -standby: 예비품, 대기품

My office has a cafeteria. but we are all tired of the same old menu.
구내식당이 있긴 하지만 항상 똑같은 메뉴에 질렸습니다.
  -be tired of : 질리다

When I'm in a rush I just grab a quick bite at a cafe.
바쁘면 카페에서 가볍게 빨리 요기합니다.
  -grab a bite: 간단히 요기하다
  ( ex: I need a few minutes to grab a bite. 잠깐 먹고 갈게요.)

I have to admit sometimes grabbing lunch feels like a chore.
가끔은 밥먹는 것도 일처럼 느껴질때가 있다는 걸 인정해야합니다.
  -grab lunch : 점심먹다
  (ex: Why don't we grab lunch sometime next week? 다음주에 언제 점심한번 같이 해요)

B: Sure, I'm free during lunch tomorrow. 그럼. 나 내일 점심때 시간돼.
A: That's even better. Let's do lunch. 더 잘됐네. 점심 같이 하자.
B: Oh, I'd love it. 좋아.



2.29 Talk about when you procrastinate
       미룰 때를 얘기해봅시다
          
As with all people, I tend to procrastinate from time to time
누구나 다 그렇듯, 가끔 일을 미루는 경향이 있습니다.
  - procrastinate : 미루다
  (ex: I used to procrastinate quite often when I was young. 어렸을 때 자주 미루곤 했습니다.

I put things off until the last minute and end up doing things in a rush
끝까지 일을 미루다가, 결국 서둘러서 하게 됩니다.
  -put off something : ~미루다
  (ex: I try not to put things off when I'm working with other people. 다른 사람과 일할 땐 미루지 않으려고 노력합니다.)
 -end up ~ ing : 결국 ~ 하게 되다
  (ex: I don't like to do things in a rush. 서둘러서 하는게 싫습니다.
        I get stressed out when I have to do things in a rush. 서둘러서 할 때 스트레스 받습니다. )


I regret doing that every time that happens.
그럴 때마다 후회합니다.
  -every time that : ~ 할때마다

I promise myself  to get things done on schedule, but I get lazy again.
일정대로 진행하자고 마음먹지만, 다시 게을러 집니다.
  -get things done on schedule : 일정대로 진행하다
  (ex: They have always gotten things done on schedule. 그들은 항상 일정대로 진행한다)

I try to make plans for things I have to do.
해야될 일에 대해 계획을 세우려고 합니다.
  -make plans : 계획을 세우다

However plans are just plans.
하지만 계획은 계획일 뿐입니다.

It's hard to always follow them.
그를 따라가는게 항상 어렵습니다.

I have friends who are very good at getting things done ahead of schedule.
일을 미리미리 하는 데 아주 능한 친구도 있습니다.
  -ahead of schedule : 일정에 앞서다  (<->behind the schedule 일정에 늦어지다)

I wish I were like them.
나도 그들과 같았으면 좋겠습니다.
  - I wish I were ~ : 내가 ~였으면 좋겠다 (가정법)

I hope I can change over time.
나도 시간이 지나면 변했으면 좋겠습니다.
  -over time.: 시간이 지남에 따라서
  (Ex: You will get better over time. 시간이 지나면 나아질거야.
       He has gotten a lot brighter over time. 그는 예전보다성격이 참 밝아졌다)

A: We have to speed up a little bit. 우리 속도좀 내야겠어.
B: I think you are right. 니 말이 맞아.
A: We're way behind the schedule 우리 엄청 늦춰지고 있어.
B: I know. It's not going to be easy to meet the deadline. 맞에. 기한에 맞추는게 쉽진 않겠어.
