Studios 원룸

Single person household are very common in Korea these days.

1인가정이 점점 많아지고 있습니다.

Often, it doesn’t make sense for people living alone to live in multi bedroom apartments.

혼자 사는 사람에게는 방이 여러 개인 아파트가 필요 없습니다.

There’s no use for so much room.

많은 방은 소용없습니다.

-there’s no use~: ~해봐야 소용없다

Studios are a fine solution.

원룸이 좋은 해결책입니다.

As a result, they are becoming increasingly common.

그 결과로 원룸이 점점 더 보편화 되어가고 있습니다.

They provide cozy accommodations at a much lower price.

원룸은 저렴한 가격에 아늑한 공간을 제공합니다. 

Many more studio apartments are being built because of the high demand for these residences.

수요가 늘어나면서 원룸 건물건축도 늘어나고 있다.

Studios are also popular among newlywed couples.

신혼부부에게 원룸은 인기입니다.

- newlywed: 막 결혼한

They have adequate space for two people and are easier on the wallet.

원룸은 두 명이 지내기에 좋고, 비용부담이 적습니다.

-easy on the wallet.: (비용) 부담이 적다

- adequate(애리퀴ㅌ): 적당한

Couples normally move to a larger place once they have kids.

아이들이 생기면 더 넓은 곳으로 이사합니다.

Overall the popularity for studios will only rise in the years to come.

하지만 원룸의 수요는 앞으로 꾸준히 증가할 것입니다.

I’ve called for a short meeting to recognize our negotiation team back from Seoul Korea.

한국에서 돌아온 협상팀을 치하하고자 잠시 회의를 소집했습니다.

-       Recognize: 인정하다, 표창하다, 칭찬하다 감사하다

I just want to say good on ya, mates.

축하한다는 말을 하고 싶습니다.

-       Good on ya: 축하합니다. (=good job)

-       Mate : 동료, 친구 (뉴질, 호주에서 주로 쓰는 호칭)

Before leaving for Seoul, we pretty knew bugger all about how to response to their reluctance to negotiate.

서울에 가기 전에는 협상을 꺼려하는 한국측에 어떻게 대응해야 할지 거의 아무것도 몰랐어요.

-       Bugge(버거ㄹ): 골칫거리, 맙소사

-       bugger all: 거의 아무것도 (almost nothing)

It seemed like dodge situation, because they were dragging our feet for many weeks.

저쪽에서 몇주동안 지연시키는 걸 보니 미심쩍은 상황으로 보였죠.

-       Dodge: (영국/뉴질) 미심쩍은, 수상한 (=fishy)

-       Drag one’s feet: 질질끌다, 지연시키다. 방해하다

But you prepared well and successfully convinced them to accept our proposal.

하지만 여러분이 잘 준비해서 우리 제안을 받아들이도록 설득하는데 성공했습니다.

And it looks like our company will be right as rain for a while.

이제 우리회사는 얼마간 좋을 것으로 보입니다.

-       right as rain: (뉴질) 아주 건강한, 상태가 좋은, 훌륭한, 완벽한

-       for a while.: 한동안

Yes, Sir. My team has been busting a gut for past three weeks to set up the meeting with JCN group.

네 이사님. 저희 팀은 JCN그룹과 미팅을 성사시키기 위해 지난 3주간 열심히 노력해왔습니다.

-       Bust a gut: ~ 하려고 무진 애를 쓰다, 열심히 노력하다

We are good to go now.

이제 준비되었습니다.

Corker. The VP is a bit edgy about our trip there.

좋아요. 부사장님께서 이번 출장에 대해 조금 불안해하고 계시는데요.

Our Korean partner express some concerns about re-negotiating our beef, dairy and seafood exports

We hope they will be willing to compromise.  .
