8. 27 Talk about  the Popularity of K-pop world wide.

Korea Pop music also known as K-pop is very popular around the world.

It is immensely popular especially in neighboring Asian countries.

Many young boy and girl groups enjoy top celebrity status in many Asian countries.

it's easy to see groups doing Asian concert tours.

Local airport go crazy when the stars arrive.

And many concerts get sold out even within several hours.

Many song title of young groups are in English because of this trend.

A lot of K-pop fans are learning Korean, because they love K-pop.

This has led to more interest in Korean culture and products overall.

Souvenir related to K- pop sell like hot cakes.

and there are even stores that specialized K-pop items.

8. 26 What do you like to eat when you watch movie?

Pop corn is my favorite snack at the movie theater.

At Korean Theaters they have flavored popcorn such as garlic, barbecue, cheese, onion.

These days they even have flavored powder popcorn.

You just pour the powder in the popcorn, cover it with the lid, and shake it to mix with the popcorn.

It's great because you can choose whatever flavor you want.

Personally I just get the regular popcorn most of the time.

Plus they sell Hot Dogs, nacho chips and dried squid at the theater.

They also sell all sorts of beverages both hot and cold.

I think soft drinks go best with snacks.

8.25  How often do you go to watch movies?

On average Korean goes to the theater roughly 4. 1 times a year.

I think I'm slightly above that average.
                       평균을 웃돈다 ( <-> below)
I think I go to watch movies at theaters once every two months on average.

I'd like to go more often, just don't have (the) time.
더 자주 가고 싶지만, 그럴 시간이 없다.

I normally watch movies that top the charts.

Meanwhile many movies are released on  VOD (video on demand) services earlier than in the past.                           출시되다
                           
So If I miss a movie at the theater, I can always catch it at home on TV

Newly released movies cost as much as movie ticket.

But if the movies is really good, it it worth the money.

I was a bit disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high. 내가 기대를 너무 많이 해서인가봐



8. 24 How much your movie tickets in Korea?

The price for movie ticket vary in Korea .

The set price's 9000 won per ticket for adults.

Students can get discounts.

There' re different prices for different timeslot sometimes

Early showings tend to be cheaper.

and late night showings are sometimes a bit more expensive.

Premium Theaters such as 3D, 4D or Imax theater are a bit more expensive.

There are somewhere between 10000 to 20000won per seat.

There are also premium seats for couple.

Those seats are more comfortable and you get a better view of the screen.

There are also Prestige class seats.

They cost 4 to 5 times more than regular seats.

You even have a service who attend to your needs during the movies.
